The IT Help Desk provides a central point for NKU technology support. If you have questions or problems, we offer a variety of ways to get in touch with us. 

Monday-Friday: 7 a.m. to midnight

Saturday: 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sunday: Closed during summer. (During school year we are open 12:30 p.m. to midnight.)

Mac users of Microsoft Office 2011: An update released on May 12th for Microsoft Office 11 (release # 14.5.0) is causing Outlook to crash. Please do not install this update until further notice. If you have already installed, please contact the IT Help Desk.

  • + How do I subscribe to a listserv?
    1. Go to NKU Mailing Lists 2. Click on the list you would like to subscribe to 3. Under the Subscribe section of the listinfo page, enter your email address and name 4. Choose a password, and reenter it to confirm 5. Click the Submit button 6. You should receive a confirmation email in a few moments 7. Click on the link in the email 8. Click "Subscribe to list ..." If the mailing list is not listed, send an email to to be subscribed to the list. 9. After confirming your subscription, you will receive a welcome message with the subject title “Welcome to the “Listname” mailing list.”  This message provides list information, your password, an address to post to the list, and other information.
  • + How do I unsubscribe from a listserv?
    1. Click on the link provided in your welcome message or go to (substitute the name of the listserv from which you wish to unsubscribe). 2. Enter your subscription e-mail address by the "Unsubscribe or edit options" button. 3. Click the "Unsubscribe or edit options" button. 4. Look for the Unsubscribe section and click the unsubscribe button. 5. You should receive a confirmation email. Click the link in the email to confirm.
  • + How do I listen to my voicemail off of campus (fac/staff)?
    You can call in to check your voicemail messages or update your greeting from anywhere in the world. Dial (859) 572-5800. When the recording answers, press "*". Follow the prompts to enter your extension and hit "#". Enter PIN. Review voicemails as you would from your office phone.
